Air Date: 9/3/14
Duration: 10
Host: Holly Lucille, ND, RN
Guest Bio: Ray Doustdar, CEO Buiced INC
Ray Ray Doustdar is the CEO of BUICED Inc., and the creator of the all new BUICED Liquid Multivitamin, as well as the curator of Everyday Juicer, a website dedicated to helping people add fresh vegetable juicing to their daily lifestyle.

Through fresh vegetable juicing, Ray was able to bring down his cholesterol from 234 to 168 (down 28%) by incorporating juicing into his daily lifestyle.

During this time, he discovered that although the leafy greens are packed with phyto-nutrients, they lack many essential vitamins and minerals.

He tried taking vitamins in pill form after each juice, but they upset his stomach. Then Ray learned liquid vitamins are more readily available for easy absorption, so he decided to solve his own problem and created BUICED to "boost his juice."
Is There a Right Way to Detox?
It seems like every week there is a new detox available that promises you the results you've been waiting for: weight loss, less bloating, more energy and less digestive distress.

This sounds like a dream come true; but are you aware of what a true detox is actually for?

A detox can last for short or long periods of time and is the process of ridding your body of toxic or unhealthy substances. During the detox, your organs work together to help bind and eliminate the toxins in your body that may have come from food, the toxins in your environment and water.

If you've been consistent at the gym and have been eating healthy foods but your body is still feeling overwhelmed, a detox may help you feel better.

Is there a "right" way to detox?

Before starting any detox, you want to make sure to contact your physician to make sure it won't interfere with any medications or disease protocols you might be on, or pose any health concerns. It's also important to know that a detox shouldn't be used for a quick fix to a short-term goal that you have.

Making a commitment to eating healthy and staying active can be challenging, especially when the temptation of junk food is constantly around you. However, by eliminating processed foods, watching your sugar and refined carbohydrate intake and replacing them with organic, wholesome foods, your body might feel a little better.

How do you ensure you're doing a healthy detox?

Everyday Juicer, Ray Doustdar, joins Dr. Holly to discuss what a detox is, why you would want to consider doing a detox and if you're going about a detox in a healthy way.
